[00:00.66]Passage 76 An October Sunrise
[00:06.35]I was up before the sunrise one October morning, and away through the wild and the woodland.
[00:14.22]The rising of the sun was noble in the cold and warmth of it;
[00:19.36]peeping down the spread of light, he raised his shoulder heavily over the edge of gray mountain
[00:27.68]and wavering length of upland.
[00:30.96]Beneath his gaze the dew-fogs dipped and crept to the hollow places,
[00:36.98]then stole away in line and column,
[00:40.48]holding skirts and clinging subtly at the sheltering corners where rock hung over grass-land,
[00:47.70]while the brave lines of the hills came forth,
[00:51.20]one beyond other gliding.
[00:53.83]The woods arose, like drapery of awakened mountains, stately with a depth of awe,
[01:02.25]and memory of the tempests.
[01:04.55]Autumn\'s mellow hand was upon them, as they owned already, touched with gold and red and olive,
[01:13.08]and their joy towards the sun was less to a bridegroom than a father.
[01:19.43]Yet before the floating impress of the woods could clear itself,
[01:23.81]suddenly the gladsome light leaped over hill and valley,
[01:28.84]casting amber, blue, and purple, and a tint of rich red rose,
[01:34.97]according to the scene they lit on,
[01:37.37]and the curtain flung around;
[01:40.33]yet all alike dispelling fear and the cloven hoof of darkness,
[01:46.57]all on the wings of hope advancing, and proclaiming, "God is here!"
[01:52.26]Then life and joy sprang reassured from every crouching hollow;
[01:58.16]every flower and bud and bird had a fluttering sense of them,
[02:04.17]and all the flashing of God\'s gaze merged into soft beneficence.
[02:10.52]So, perhaps, shall break upon us that eternal morning, when crag and chasm shall be no more,
[02:19.94]neither hill and valley, nor great ocean;
[02:23.87]when glory shall not scare happiness, neither happiness envy glory;
[02:29.56]but all things shall arise, and shine in the light of the Father\'s countenance,
[02:36.02]because itself is risen. 晨读英语美文100篇 美文英语 英语美文50篇 英语美文小短文 晨读英语 晨读美文 英语美文摘抄小短文 英语美文200字 英语励志短文
